HBLAB Shorten – Browser Extension Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

HBLAB Shorten (“the extension”) is operated by HBLAB JSC. It turns the URL of the current browser tab into a short link on hblab.me.

What we collect

  • The URL of the tab you choose to shorten. It is sent only when you open the extension’s popup, so that hblab.me can create the short link. The extension never reads page content, other tabs or your browsing history.
  • Your hblab.me API token. You enter it yourself on the settings page, and it is sent with each request to authenticate you.
  • A custom alias, if you choose to set one.

How we use it

This data is used only to create and manage your short links on hblab.me. The extension contains no analytics, tracking or advertising.

Where it is stored

  • On your device: your API token, and the short links you have already created, are kept in Chrome’s local extension storage. You can remove your token at any time on the settings page. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of this data.
  • On hblab.me: the short links you create (destination URL, alias, creation time) are stored on hblab.me and linked to your HBLAB account.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties. Data is sent only to hblab.me, over HTTPS.
